The Punishers watch in Spider-man Brand New Day

Jon Bernthal has played Frank Castle since Netflix's Daredevil in 2016: two seasons of The Punisher, a return in Daredevil: Born Again, and now Spider-Man: Brand New Day (2026), where Castle becomes Peter Parker's unlikely confidant, a warning about what vigilantism costs once nobody puts limits on it. Two days after the film's July 31 release, r/Watches had already opened a thread trying to identify the watch on his wrist, with guesses ranging from a Seiko SPB147 to a 62 MAS to an Atlas III. It's a Sangin Instruments Neptune, and Sangin's own CEO confirmed it in that same Reddit thread within 24 hours of the film hitting theatres, while most of the internet was still guessing.

Sangin Instruments was founded in 2016 by Jacob Servantes, a former MARSOC Raider. The name comes from the Sangin district in Afghanistan's Helmand Province, one of the most fiercely contested areas of the war, where Servantes served. Sangin states its designs reflect over 300,000 hours of real-world use and feedback from veterans and active-duty operators, and the crown position on models like the Neptune, sitting at 8 o'clock instead of the standard 3, exists because operators who shoot regularly complained that a conventional crown digs into the back of the support hand during a firing position. That community connection isn't a marketing angle, it's arguably the entire premise of the company, and it's exactly why a Reddit identification thread got an answer straight from the CEO instead of a guess from a stranger.

The Neptune is Sangin's self-described "gentleman's combat diver": a 40mm stainless steel case with a double-domed sapphire crystal and blue anti-reflective coating, a Swiss Sellita SW300 automatic movement with a 56-hour power reserve, and 300 metres of water resistance, built to survive field conditions and still work under a suit cuff. Castle's is the Neptune (SOF): the SpecOps Certification-Required version with a matte green bezel, restricted to buyers who can verify service in a special operations community, Army Special Forces, Air Force pararescue, Naval Special Warfare, Marine Raiders among them, the same background as Sangin's own founder. The current generation, Neptune V3, retails at $1,599 ($1,699 in DLC), up from the $695 to $850 range earlier V1/V2 versions traded at. It sells out fast: Sangin's drops typically run 200 to 300 units against tens of thousands of people trying to buy at once, and several colorways are sold out on Sangin's own site as this is written.
